We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Accountant to join our organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting principles and practices, excellent analytical skills, and a keen attention to detail. The Accountant will be responsible for managing financial records, preparing financial statements, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.


Responsibilities:

  1. Financial Record Keeping:
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for the organization.
  • Record day-to-day financial transactions and complete the posting process.
  1. Financial Reporting:
  • Prepare financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Generate financial reports for management, providing insights into the company's financial performance.
  1. Budgeting and Forecasting:
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts.
  • Monitor budget variances and provide explanations for any discrepancies.
  1. Accounts Payable and Receivable:
  • Process accounts payable and receivable transactions.
  • Reconcile vendor statements and resolve any discrepancies.
  1. Tax Compliance:
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal tax regulations.
  • Prepare and file tax returns and assist in tax planning.
  1. Audit Support:
  • Collaborate with internal and external auditors during financial audits.
  • Address audit findings and implement recommendations for improvement.
  1. Financial Analysis:
  • Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Provide recommendations for cost reduction and revenue enhancement.
  1. General Ledger Management:
  • Maintain the general ledger and reconcile accounts as necessary.
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records.
  1. Ad-Hoc Financial Projects:
  • Participate in special projects and financial analyses as required.
  • Contribute to process improvements within the finance department.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Proven experience as an Accountant, preferably in agritech/startup.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, regulations, and financial reporting.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
