Job Description: Senior Accountant

Location: Valasaravakkam, Chennai
Overview:
Afynd Private Limited is seeking driven Senior Accountant who will be responsible for overseeing and managing the accounting functions within the organization. This role involves preparing and reviewing financial statements, managing accounts, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and providing financial insights to support decision-making. The Senior Accountant will also mentor junior accounting staff and work closely with external auditors and other departments.
Key Responsibilities:
· Financial Reporting:
- Prepare and review accurate and timely financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Ensure financial reports comply with accounting principles and regulatory requirements.
- Analyze financial statements and provide insights into financial performance and variances.
· Account Management:
- Oversee the general ledger and ensure accuracy in account balances and transactions.
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
- Reconcile and maintain bank statements and other financial records.
· Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts.
- Monitor and report on budget performance and variances.
- Provide financial analysis and recommendations to support strategic planning.
· Compliance and Controls:
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations, internal controls, and company policies.
- Implement and maintain accounting policies and procedures.
- Coordinate and support internal and external audits.
· Financial Analysis:
- Perform detailed financial analysis to support decision-making and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Prepare financial reports and summaries for management review.
· Team Leadership and Development:
- Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff, providing guidance and training as needed.
- Review and approve work completed by junior staff to ensure accuracy and compliance.
· Tax and Regulatory Reporting:
- Prepare and file tax returns, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Manage regulatory reporting requirements and submissions.
· Special Projects:
- Participate in special projects and initiatives as assigned by management.
- Provide financial expertise and support for business development and operational improvements.
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA, CA Inter or other relevant certification preferred.
- Mandatory: 3 years of CA Articleship.
- Skills:
- In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and regulatory requirements.
- Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
