Job Overview


Seeking a Legal Compliance Manager with 7 to 10 years of experience to join 5Paisa Pvt Ltd in Thane. This is a Full-Time position with a focus on legal research, regulatory compliance, risk assessment, policy development, contract review, and more. Ideal candidates should possess strong analytical skills and attention to detail in the stockbroking industry.


General Skills:-

 

  • Excellent Drafting and Negotiation Skills
  • Strong technical knowledge of Insurance Broking Business and Compliances
  • Knowledge of general corporate laws and insurance laws including regulations applicable for Insurance Brokers.
  • To work independently as well as part of a collaborative team.
  • Efficient, ability to prioritize work load and multi-task
  • Additional  qualification in insurance background is desirable


Qualifications and Skills


  • LLB from a reputed college.
  • Strong experience in legal research and regulatory compliance
  • Proven track record in risk assessment and policy development
  • Ability to review and negotiate contracts effectively
  • Attention to detail and strong analytical skills
  • Knowledge of stockbroking regulations and industry practices


Roles and Responsibilities


  • Ensure legal compliance in all aspects of the company's operations
  • Conduct regular audits to identify and mitigate compliance risks
  • Develop and implement company policies and procedures to adhere to legal standards
  • Review and negotiate contracts with clients and vendors
  • Stay updated on regulatory changes and advise management on compliance matters


Legal & Compliance:-


  • Drafting and Reviewing of Business and Operational Agreements and related documents for empanelling insurers.
  •  Negotiate terms of Contracts with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Drafting of replies to the notices/ show cause notices received from the regulators/customers.
  • Attending Ombudsman Hearings and co-ordinating with the teams for providing the responses to the regulators.
  • Responding to communications received from IRDAI and other statutory/regulatory matters.
  • Analyse a broad range of complex laws and regulations affecting the operations of the Company including those arising from corporates structures and business models.
  • Anticipate and identify legal issues that concerned the organizations and develop legal strategies and solutions to mitigate the risk for the Company.
  • Tracking and implementation of new circulars and regulations as applicable to the business of the Company.
  • Review adherence to the IRDAI Regulations including licensing requirements and disclosure norms.
  • Provide analysis and counsel on a range of compliance issues, including corporate issues, business structures and models, employment issues of the company.
  •  Advising business/operational teams on compliance matters and queries.
  • Ensure timely filing of regulatory returns and submission of reports with the IRDA
  • Abreast with the compliances of all the applicable Regulations to the Company.
  • To ensure company’s operations are in compliance with applicable law and regulations and that internal controls are effective in managing risks, ensuring accuracy of financial records & maintaining integrity of transactions.
  • Handling of onsite inspections by IRDAI
  • Handling of Internal Audits and presenting the audit reports to management and audit committee.
  • Compliances and formalities relating renewal of licenses and ensure timely renewals.
  • To ensure training and licensing of Broker Qualified Persons/Principal Officers/POSPs.
  • Reviewing of Insurance Advertisements and filings the same with IRDAI for approvals.
  • Assess the effectiveness of risk management policies and procedures including risk identification, assessment and mitigation strategies.
  • Review client onboarding and servicing process to ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Assessment of sales practices for transparency, disclosures and adherence to ethical standards
  • Review the effectiveness of IT infrastructure in supporting business operations and data security. 
  • Evaluate data security measures to protect sensitive customer information and compliance with data protection laws.
  • Ensure policies, regulatory, or statutory changes that might affect the organization are up to date and approved by the committee.
  • Develop and oversee the systems that ensure the company complies with all applicable codes, in addition to its legal and statutory requirements.
