Key Responsibilities:

Leadership and Strategic Planning:

  • Provide visionary leadership to create and implement student-centered programs that support personal and academic development.
  • Collaborate with other departments to develop policies and initiatives that enhance the student experience.
  • Oversee the strategic planning and execution of student-related services, events, and activities.

Student Support and Welfare:

  • Serve as a liaison between students, faculty, and administration, addressing student concerns and resolving issues.
  • Provide guidance on matters such as academic advising, personal counseling, health services, and career development.
  • Oversee student grievance redressal processes and ensure timely resolution of complaints.

Campus Life and Extracurricular Activities:

  • Promote a vibrant campus life by organizing and supporting extracurricular activities, student clubs, and cultural events.
  • Collaborate with student organizations to encourage leadership, community service, and social responsibility.
  • Coordinate annual events such as orientation programs, student festivals, and graduation ceremonies.

Student Discipline and Code of Conduct:

  • Enforce and monitor adherence to the college’s student code of conduct, policies, and regulations.
  • Handle disciplinary cases and conflicts, ensuring fair treatment and appropriate action.
  • Promote ethical behavior and professionalism among students, fostering a respectful and inclusive campus environment.

Student Engagement and Development:

  • Develop and implement programs to support students’ holistic development, including leadership, soft skills, and character-building initiatives.
  • Engage students in decision-making processes related to their educational experience through feedback mechanisms and student councils.
  • Foster a supportive environment that promotes student involvement in college governance and activities.

Health, Safety, and Wellness Programs:

  • Oversee health, counseling, and wellness services to promote mental and physical well-being among students.
  • Implement programs focused on stress management, mental health awareness, and work-life balance for students.
  • Ensure a safe and secure campus by collaborating with campus security and safety teams.

Career Services and Placement:

  • Work closely with the Training & Placement Office to provide students with career guidance, internships, and job placement opportunities.
  • Organize career fairs, workshops, and training programs to enhance students’ employability and career readiness.
  • Assist students in preparing for professional life, including resume building, interview skills, and networking.

Alumni Relations:

  • Maintain and enhance relationships with alumni, encouraging them to participate in student mentoring, guest lectures, and campus events.
  • Create platforms for alumni to contribute to student development and institutional growth.

Reporting and Compliance:

  • Maintain accurate records and reports on student activities, discipline, and welfare.
  • Ensure compliance with college policies, government regulations, and accreditation standards related to student services.
  • Prepare reports and documentation on student affairs activities for college leadership and stakeholders.



Qualifications and Experience:

  • A Master’s degree with MPhil & Ph.D. in Science and Humanities (Maths, Chemistry, Physics).
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in higher education, with at least 5 years in student affairs or a leadership role.
  • Strong understanding of student development theory, student services, and campus life.
  • Proven ability to handle student discipline, welfare, and extracurricular programs.

Skills:

  • Strong leadership and organizational abilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with students, faculty, and administration.
  • Conflict resolution and crisis management skills.
