Job Overview
We are seeking a qualified individual for the role of Prosthetist and Orthotist at Dr. Moopens Medical College. This is a full-time, mid-level position based in Wayanad within the PMR department. The candidate should possess a maximum of 6 years of relevant work experience to be considered for this role. The role requires a combination of technical expertise and patient interaction skills to create and fit prosthetic and orthotic devices.
Qualifications and Skills
- Must have strong understanding of biomechanics (Mandatory skill) to analyze movement and design supportive devices.
- Expertise in material science (Mandatory skill) for selecting appropriate materials for prosthetics and orthotics.
- Proven experience in prosthetic design (Mandatory skill) to develop and implement patient-specific solutions.
- Proficiency in using 3D printing technology to fabricate customized prosthetic components efficiently.
- Skilled in using CAD software to create detailed blueprints of prosthetic and orthotic devices.
- Comprehensive knowledge of human anatomy to ensure accurate fit and functionality of devices.
- Excellent patient consultation skills to understand patients' needs and provide personalized care.
- Ability to conduct gait analysis to evaluate the effectiveness of orthotic and prosthetic solutions.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Consult with patients to assess their needs and design custom prosthetic and orthotic solutions.
- Fabricate and fit prosthetic and orthotic devices to ensure optimal comfort and functionality for patients.
- Collaborate with medical professionals to develop comprehensive treatment plans for patients.
- Conduct regular follow-ups to monitor patient progress and adjust devices as necessary for improved outcomes.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in prosthetic and orthotic technologies and techniques.
- Provide training to patients on the use and maintenance of their orthotic and prosthetic devices.
- Maintain accurate records of patient care, treatment plans, and device modifications.
- Contribute to a multidisciplinary team focused on enhancing patient mobility and quality of life.
