Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Scrub Nurse for our dynamic team at the Chennai Urology And Robotics Institute. This is a Junior level, full-time position located in Chennai. The ideal candidate will work closely with the surgical team to ensure that all procedures within the operating room are executed efficiently and safely, maintaining the highest standards of patient care.
Qualifications and Skills
- Proficiency in aseptic techniques to prevent infection and ensure patient safety during surgical procedures.
- Experience in instrument sterilization and maintenance, ensuring all surgical tools are properly cleaned and ready for use.
- Comprehensive understanding of surgical equipment handling for a variety of procedures within urology and nephrology.
- Ability to follow operating room protocols meticulously to support the surgical team and maintain a sterile environment.
- Competence in patient monitoring before, during, and after surgery to ensure optimal care and prompt response to any complications.
- Skill in assisting surgeons during procedures by providing instruments, tracking supplies, and managing any contingencies.
- Experience in infection control practices to reduce risks of surgical site infections and promote a healthy recovery process.
- Ability to manage crises efficiently in the operating room, solving issues swiftly to support the surgical team's success.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Assist surgeons during operations by handing them necessary instruments and anticipating their needs.
- Prepare and maintain a sterile surgical environment by following infection control protocols and sterilizing instruments.
- Ensure all surgical equipment is operational and ready for use before each procedure.
- Monitor the patient's vital signs during procedures and respond appropriately to any changes.
- Collaborate with the surgical team to manage supplies and ensure the timely availability of necessary materials.
- Participate in preoperative and postoperative patient assessment and care planning.
- Document all surgical procedures and maintain accurate patient records as per hospital policies.
- Assist in educating patients and their families regarding postoperative care and expected outcomes.
