Principal Software Engineer – API & Microservices(Kong API)

Location: Bengaluru, India

This role centers around driving the adoption and implementation of APIs and microservices, emphasizing scalable and secure architectural practices that align with organizational objectives for innovation and excellence.

Key Impact Areas:

• API & Microservices Leadership: Spearhead the design and implementation of API and microservices solutions, promote platform adoption, and establish governance around API security and semantic standards.
• Continuous Improvement & Deployment: Enhance CI/CD pipelines to optimize build, test, and deployment processes, ensuring faster time-to-market and adherence to a "Design to Run" mentality.
• Technical Collaboration: Lead discussions with architecture and functional SMEs to develop cost-effective, high-performance solutions, and support a unified architecture across business units.
• Platform Uplift: Upgrade API Gateway, Identity Provider, and Service Mesh to align with the latest industry standards, contributing to a robust and reliable production environment.

Core Skills & Experience:

• API Design & Standards: Proficient in BIAN architecture, Open API specifications, REST principles, and API security, with hands-on experience in API gateway and portal implementations (e.g., Kong).
• Cloud & SRE Proficiency: Skilled in deploying solutions on AWS and Azure, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and Site Reliability Engineering.
• Technical Leadership: Experienced in guiding engineering teams, conducting technology workshops, and implementing best practices in DevSecOps, monitoring, and logging.
• Retail Banking & Digital Platforms: In-depth experience in the retail banking sector, focused on delivering scalable digital solutions.
