Job Overview

We are seeking a Senior Postgres Lead DBA to join our team in Bangalore. This is a full-time position where you will play a critical role in managing our database systems to ensure optimal performance and security. The ideal candidate will have substantial expertise in PostgreSQL Administration and SQL Query Optimization, with strong skills in DB2.

Qualifications and Skills

• Proven experience in PostgreSQL Administration (Mandatory skill) with a deep understanding of database architecture and query optimization.
• Extensive hands-on experience with SQL Query Optimization (Mandatory skill) to efficiently design and execute queries for complex data operations.
• Expertise in DB2 (Mandatory skill), capable of managing and integrating with the DB2 database system.
• Proficiency in Database Performance Tuning, enabling maximum efficiency and performance under various load conditions.
• Experience in Backup and Recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and availability in case of failure or data corruption.
• Strong knowledge of High Availability solutions to minimize downtime and maintain continuous database operations.
• Solid understanding of Database Security practices to protect data against unauthorized access and threats.
• Familiarity with Replication processes for database redundancy and scalability across multiple systems.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Lead the database team in designing, implementing, and managing robust database solutions.
• Analyze system performance, conduct troubleshooting, and make necessary recommendations for optimization.
• Develop and enforce database standards and guidelines to ensure data security and consistency.
• Oversee the implementation of high availability, disaster recovery, and data replication strategies.
• Coordinate and execute data migrations and database upgrades with minimal impact on production systems.
• Mentor team members, providing technical guidance and support for complex database issues.
• Collaborate with software development and IT teams to support data-related tasks and ensure seamless integration.
• Prepare and maintain documentation related to database architectures, configurations, and processes.
