JOB DESCRIPTION

CFD Engineer 

 Responsibilities:

 Check all available inputs in the drawings and documents for a particular project.

 Identify missing inputs, then either make prudent assumptions or ask client to

provide those inputs.

 Plan and execute CFD Projects for engineering phenomenon verification and

validation.

 Provide design recommendations and directions in the early stages of

product/process design.

 Knowledge of pre – processing, solving and post – processing of numerical

simulations with the help of various CFD tools/software like OpenFoam, FDS etc.

will be an added advantage.

 Conduct tests like grid independence, time step size determination, write scripts to 

automate the process etc., to ensure simulation is accurate and optimized.

 Ensure that simulations follow basic laws of physics.

 Research to understand simulation methodology for new kind of projects in the

company.

 Perform CFD analysis associated with Fluid Dynamics, Heat Transfer & Mass

Transfer.

 Preparation of project report.

 Peer review of projects done by other colleagues.

 Co-ordinate with other colleagues for execution of fluid mechanics related projects.

 Organize and upload relevant project files in the common server during and after

completion of project.

 Learn, understand and apply company’s engineering processes and practices.

 Produce and utilize engineering calculations and operate computer programs to

support design analysis and engineering efforts including spreadsheets and Internet

Resources.

 Apply manufacturing quality and considerations while generating solutions.

 Participate in collaboration with other verticals at Mechartés to envision and develop 

design packages/design processes jointly.

 On time delivery and quality of deliverables.

 Authorities:

• Create project folder on Central Database Server

• Upload & view files on Central Database Server

• Peer review of reports.

• Send project reports to clients.
