Position Summary
Reporting to the Head of School, the Chief Technology Officer is responsible for promoting and effectively implementing the use of technologies to support student achievement in the K-12 classrooms. They will provide leadership, staff development and instructional support to all faculty members and students. They will collaborate with appropriate faculty members and technical staff to support, manage, optimize the use of instructional software, and network resources to support quality teaching and learning. They will also be responsible for the school network & IT infrastructure while managing the IT team.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Collaborate with faculty in composing effective technology-infused, content/skill-based lessons, and support them as they implement the lessons in their classrooms.
2. Partner with the IT team and other faculty members to model the use of instructional technology to enhance student learning.
3. Provide assistance and training to faculty members and teachers in the integration of technology to support student achievement.
4. Plan and host technology driven professional development workshops/seminars for individuals and groups.
5. Create learning resources for the faculty (e.g. websites, tutorials, interactive programs, databases, etc.) which would help them integrate technology
6. Collaborate with the IT team and school leadership in the evaluation, selection and implementation of instructional technology materials and software.
7. Collaborate with the IT team and school leadership to ensure infrastructure and tools are available to carry out school and technology initiatives.
8. Conduct research and stay up to date on advancements in technology tools and resources to inform decision making.
9. Identify and analyse trends in software, curriculum and teaching strategies in all content areas.
10. Gather and disseminate information (such as policy updates and professional development opportunities) relevant to instructional technology.
11. Review materials, equipment, programs, services and implementation strategies, and provide reports as required to the school leadership team.
12. Participate in ongoing professional development related to job responsibilities and maintaining expertise in the field.
13. Perform other duties as may be assigned by the school leadership team.
- Budgeting on current and proposed IT spending plans, determining maximally impactful business enhancements and minimizing wasteful spending.
- Managing software licensing / purchase of recurring software’s used across
sections.
16. Data verification and security.
17. Managing Computer labs and resource centres for all section of schools.
18. Management, security and upkeep of all networks of all sections of school.
19. Customized and repaired technology based on staff requests.
20. Interact and negotiate with vendors, outsourcers and contractors to secure.
products and services.
21. Maintenance and regular updating of servers of school (data backup, security,
antivirus etc.)
22. Plan for short-term and long-term IT system upgrade needs.
23. Oversee daily performance of computer systems and immediately respond to
issues to keep system / network / services up and running.
24. Complete Administration of Gsuite.
25. Email id’s and groups creation for staff and students. These are to be regularly
updated.
26. To manage IT Staff & Administration.
