Tech Writer

Description:

Role requirements:

• Create, edit, and publish technical documentation, including product data sheets, technical notes, customer service notes, user guides, etc.

• Edit content for style, grammar, format, punctuation, accuracy, consistency, organization, audience, and legal standards.

• Understand XML (DITA) and single-sourcing concepts (central repository, systematic reuse, multiple deliverables) and adhere to best practices that take those into account.

• Maintain overall content quality control.

• Promote alignment within the writing team to ensure projects are consistent and adhere to style and our team’s standards and processes.

• Manage assigned projects, including maintaining project schedules; coordinating documentation reviews; collaborating with subject matter experts and ensuring timely project completion.

• Collaborate, negotiate, talk through, and/or workshop edits with writers and engineering to ensure documentation is accurate and consistent.

• Ability to use Illustrator elements to assist in technical illustrations updates, extensive edits, etc.

Tool requirements – working knowledge of the following:

• XML editors – Adobe Frame Maker and Oxygen

• Adobe Illustrator

• XML (DITA)

• Adobe Experience Manager/Guides (AEM)

• Single-sourcing concepts

Other requirements:

• Strong command of the English language and proper use of grammar and punctuation.

• Excellent writing and editing skills.
