Sort, check the quality of melees in a scientific manner as per the specified standards and prepare it for selling to customers with authenticity.

Sorting the melees – issuing the melees to the orders – physically handling Solitaires with care and maintaining the account.

Checking the diamonds physically by using all equipment in the Diamond LAB (Sarin, Brilliance scope etc.,)

Assisting the team members. .

Responsibilities

Overall responsibilities of Diamond Grader can be divided into following sub function:

I.           Quality Control

II.           Sorting & Grading of loose Stones

III.           Utilisation of diamonds in customer order and stock order

IV.           Communication

V.           Admin related function

I.           Quality Control

a.      Perform quality analyses on diamond and gemstone

b.      Check on structural & technical characteristics of the diamonds / gemstones

c.      Manually check the stone with fluorescence, HTHP, weight, Sarin, Brilliance scope.

d.      Checking the diamonds physically by using all equipment in the Diamond LAB (Sarin, Brilliance scope etc.,)

II.           Procurement of the stones

a.      Procuring melees after analyzing the market price

b.      Loose diamonds sourced from jewellery which were unset or got through purchases made from customers

III.           Sorting & Grading of loose stones

a.   Sorting the melees – issuing the melees to the orders

b.   Physically handling Solitaires with care and maintaining the account

c . Sorting is done as per the standard approved by the company

d . Creating article codes and batch numbers for the loose stone

IV.           Utilisation of diamonds in customer order and stock order

a.      As per the requirement, attaching and sending the stone for releases with reference to its order no.

V.           Communication

a.      Internal Communication

b.      Communication to the RM’s on availability of gemstone, orders etc.

c.      Clarify inter-department queries and concern

d.      Communicating to 3rd party labs like GIA/IGI.

VI.           Admin related function

a.      Inward – Outward management

b.      Working in all data making /maintaining connected jobs

c.      Maintaining data Job worker wise, discount structure wise

Qualifications

1.      Minimum Qualification: Diamond Graduate / Color Stone Graduate with any degree.

2.      Minimum years of Experience: 3+ years.

3.      Minimum Skills required: Technical and theoretical knowledge on diamonds and gemstones. Quality control analysis, Critical thinking

Preferred to have near vision, finger dexterity

Job Related Skills required :

1)     Technical knowledge on stones.

2)     Working experience with the melees and solitaire, gemstones.

3)     Maintaining the record on issues and receipt of the stones.

4)     Handling the queries from RM’s etc.,

5)     Handling the job very carefully.
