Job Overview

We are seeking a meticulous Diamond Grader to join our team at C. Krishniah Chetty & Co in Bangalore Urban. This is a full-time, mid-level position requiring 4 to 6 years of experience in the field. The ideal candidate will have robust knowledge and expertise in various aspects of diamond grading and evaluation.

Qualifications and Skills

• Diamond Knowledge (Mandatory skill): Profound understanding of diamonds, including their formation, characteristics, and types.
• Color Grading (Mandatory skill): Expertise in evaluating and grading the color of diamonds to determine their value.
• Clarity Grading (Mandatory skill): Skill in assessing the clarity of diamonds, identifying inclusions and blemishes.
• Carat Weight Assessment: Ability to accurately measure and assess the carat weight of diamonds to determine their pricing.
• Diamond Cut Evaluation: Proficiency in evaluating the cut quality of diamonds, including proportions, symmetry, and polish.
• Gemological Equipment Usage: Experience in using gemological tools and equipment for diamond grading and evaluation.
• Attention to Detail: High level of precision and attention to detail in documenting and certifying diamond grades.
• Quality Control: Capability in conducting quality control checks to ensure the diamonds meet company standards.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Grade diamonds based on their color, clarity, cut, and carat weight using standardized gemological methods.
• Document and certify diamond quality, maintaining accurate and detailed records for each evaluated piece.
• Use specialized equipment and tools to examine and measure diamonds with high precision.
• Ensure all diamonds meet the company’s quality standards before they proceed to the next stage of production or sale.
• Work closely with the procurement and sales teams to provide necessary grading and evaluation support.
• Stay updated with the latest industry trends and advancements in gemology and diamond grading technologies.
• Assist in training junior staff members on diamond grading techniques and company protocols.
• Report and address any discrepancies or issues found during the grading and evaluation process.
