Job Title: Vice Principal

Location: Kangayam & Coimbatore

Reports to:  Principal/Chairman/MD

Overview

The Vice Principal, will play a pivotal role in providing strategic leadership, academic oversight, and administrative guidance to ensure the college's compliance with UGC regulations and alignment with the objectives of the National Education Policy. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with the Principal, management, faculty, staff, and stakeholders to promote academic excellence, student success, and institutional advancement.

Responsibilities:

Academic Leadership:

Provide visionary leadership to promote academic excellence, innovation, and interdisciplinary collaboration across all academic departments and programs.

Oversee curriculum development, review, and enhancement processes to ensure alignment with UGC guidelines, NEP objectives, and emerging educational trends.

Support faculty development initiatives, pedagogical training programs, and research endeavors to enhance teaching effectiveness and promote scholarly excellence.

Administrative Oversight:

Assist the Principal in the day-to-day administration of the college, including budget management, resource allocation, and strategic planning.

Ensure compliance with UGC regulations, accreditation standards, and legal requirements pertaining to academic affairs, student affairs, and institutional governance.

Coordinate institutional assessments, audits, and quality assurance processes to maintain high academic standards and institutional effectiveness.

Student Engagement and Support:

Collaborate with student services departments to develop and implement initiatives that promote student success, well-being, and holistic development.

Address student grievances, disciplinary matters, and welfare concerns in accordance with college policies, ethical standards, and legal norms.

Foster a culture of inclusivity, diversity, and student empowerment that respects individual rights, values diversity, and promotes social responsibility.

Faculty and Staff Development:

Support faculty recruitment, retention, and professional development efforts to attract and retain high-quality faculty members who embody the college's values and mission.

Provide mentorship, coaching, and guidance to faculty and staff members to enhance their skills, competencies, and job satisfaction.

Promote a collegial and collaborative work environment that values teamwork, innovation, and continuous improvement.

Community Engagement and Partnerships:

Cultivate positive relationships with local communities, industry partners, alumni associations, and educational institutions to foster collaboration, secure support, and promote community engagement.

Leverage external partnerships to enhance student learning opportunities, facilitate internships, and support research collaborations that benefit the college and its stakeholders.

Requirements:

Master's degree or higher in any discipline except engineering sciences, from a recognized university

with a Ph.D. Post PhD experience must not be less than 5 years with good journal papers.

 

Previous experience as Vice Principal desirable

 

More than 12 years of progressive experience in higher education administration, with a focus on academic leadership, faculty development, and institutional management.

Demonstrated knowledge of UGC regulations, NEP objectives, and best practices in higher education administration.

Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire, motivate, and collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.

Commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion in all aspects of college governance and decision-making.

Proficiency in data analysis, strategic planning, and project management to support evidence-based decision-making and institutional effectiveness.
