We are looking for Tea Estate Managers for an tea estate at Nilgiris.

Job Overview:

The Estate Manager for our tea factory will oversee all aspects of estate management, including the cultivation, harvesting, and processing of tea. This role requires a strategic leader who can ensure operational efficiency, manage staff, and maintain the quality of the tea produced. The Estate Manager will be responsible for implementing best practices in tea production, managing budgets, and ensuring compliance with environmental and safety regulations.


Roles and Responsibilities

1.     Oversee daily operations of the tea estate and factory while adhering to UPASI &

2.     Manage tea cultivation, harvesting, processing, and packaging. Implement and monitor production schedules to meet quality and quantity targets.

3.     Recruit, train, and supervise estate and factory staff. Develop staff schedules and manage payroll along with HR. Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback.

4.     Ensure the quality of tea produced meets company standards and customer expectations. Implement quality control procedures and address any issues promptly.

5.     Develop and manage the estate and factory budget. Monitor expenses and implement cost-saving measures. Prepare financial reports and analyze financial performance.

6.     Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations. Implement safety procedures and conduct regular safety audits. Ensure proper maintenance of equipment and infrastructure.

7.     Manage relationships with suppliers and vendors. Negotiate contracts and monitor supply chain efficiency.

8.     Develop and execute strategies for improving production efficiency and quality. Stay updated with industry trends and implement best practices.

9.     Foster positive relationships with the local community and stakeholders. Represent the company at industry events and community functions.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Horticulture, Business Management, or a related field. An advanced degree or certification in Tea Management is a plus.
  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in estate management, preferably in a tea production environment which include a factory.
