Job Title : Head Construction

Reports To : Managing Director

Location : Coimbatore

Head construction is fully responsible for the overall success and development of any project, leading it from beginning to end.

Role & responsibilities

1. Work with the architect and construction crew to ensure that each project is feasible.
2. Network with external contractors and negotiate to attain the best deals and rates for assignments.
3. Manage job sites for both new construction and remodeling projects
4. Create schedules for construction crew and ensure all projects are fully staffed
5. Managing a project planning, contracting, execution, and monitoring team;
6. Understanding of Structural Design and Civil Engineering
7. Ensuring that all necessary equipment is on-site
8. Ensure necessary permits, approvals and licenses are obtained and maintained in order.
9. Ensuring that budget costs for wages, contractors, materials, and equipment are not exceeded
10. Oversee subcontractors and vendors to ensure that quality standards are met.
11. Deal with vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors to reach an agreement.
12. Recruit personnel and contractors for the project as per requirements.
13. Ensure all legal, health and safety regulations are being followed throughout the project.
14. Prepare and submit project estimates and project reports to the management at regular interval

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering or related field
• Project management professional certification or any equivalent qualification is an added advantages.
• Experience in remodeling projects (Institutions) preferred
• 15+ years experience in new construction and in a supervisory capacity
• Extensive experiencing managing budgets for large construction projects
• Strong knowledge of construction materials, processes and equipment
• Excellent knowledge of building permits, legal requirements and construction procedures.
• Ability to manage multiple projects at once with no decline in quality control
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
