Job Title: Facility Manager

Location: Coimbatore

Position Type: Full-time

Reports to: Chief Human Resources Officer CHRO

Job Summary:

The Facility Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations, maintenance, and security of the mall to ensure a safe, clean, and enjoyable environment for shoppers and tenants. This role involves managing facilities staff, coordinating with vendors, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facility Oversight:
  • Manage all aspects of the mall's facilities, including maintenance, repairs, and upgrades.
  • Conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance with safety and operational standards.
  • Maintenance Management:
  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs for all mall systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, etc.).
  • Coordinate emergency repairs and response plans.
  • Vendor Coordination:
  • Manage relationships with external service providers and contractors.
  • Oversee contracts and ensure services are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Safety & Security:
  • Ensure the mall complies with all health and safety regulations.
  • Collaborate with security personnel to maintain a safe environment for all patrons and staff.
  • Budget Management:
  • Develop and manage the facilities budget, tracking expenditures and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
  • Prepare financial reports related to facility operations.
  • Team Leadership:
  • Supervise and train facilities staff, providing guidance and support to enhance performance.
  • Foster a positive work environment and promote teamwork.
  • Tenant Relations:
  • Serve as the point of contact for tenants regarding facility issues and concerns.
  • Facilitate communication between tenants and management to resolve operational challenges.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in facilities management, preferably in a retail or mall environment.
  • Strong knowledge of building systems, maintenance processes and safety regulations.
  • Excellent organizational and project management.
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in facilities management software and Microsoft Office Suite.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in budgeting and financial management.
  • Certification in Facilities Management (e.g., IFMA, BOMA).
  • Familiarity with environmental sustainability practices.

Working Conditions:

  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
