A telesales specialist must sell communications products to customers and clients. Specialist must also work with current clients by using their knowledge to program voice and data using circuits and equipment for a telecommunications network in order to establish the communications system.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Maintains knowledge of all current and upcoming products.
• Contacts potential clients and customers to generate sales.
• Contacts current clients and customers to check on service, install new components and repair any services as needed.
• Studies technical specifications and prepares installation schematics to create network installation methods.
• Programs features to establish voice and data networks. Activates remote access tools and follows industry standards.
• Tests and re-programs circuits, alarms and equipment to identify and correct problems and verify services.
• Confers with other team members on a regular basis.
• Records configuration diagrams and programming in order to document networks.
• Troubleshoots and repairs outages, tests back-up procedures and updates documentation in order to maintain the network.
• Listens to and answers questions and resolves concerns to retain customers.
• Follows safety standards and policies to maintain a safe work environment.
• Participates in educational opportunities and reads technical publications to keep up with the industry.
• Accepts ownership for accomplishments and explores opportunities to accomplish new things in order to enhance department and company reputation.
