Subject Matter Expert (SME) and Trainer - Data & Analytics with Spark on Azure

About the Role:We are looking for a Subject Matter Expert (SME) and Trainer specializing in Data & Analytics with Spark on Azure. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in Spark-based data solutions on the Azure platform and will be responsible for developing and delivering high-quality training programs, guiding teams, and driving knowledge transfer across various stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

• Design and deliver comprehensive training programs on Data & Analytics with Spark and Azure, targeting diverse skill levels.
• Create and maintain training materials such as presentations, hands-on exercises, lab guides, and documentation.
• Conduct engaging and interactive training sessions, including workshops, webinars, and live sessions, focusing on Spark integration with Azure services.
• Provide mentorship and ongoing support to learners, guiding them through practical applications of Spark on Azure.
• Collaborate with internal teams and clients to assess training needs and tailor the content to align with business objectives.
• Stay updated with the latest advancements in Spark, big data technologies, and Azure cloud services to ensure training content is current.
• Offer expert guidance on best practices for using Spark and Azure, helping teams optimize performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency.
• Assess the effectiveness of training programs through feedback and learner assessments, ensuring continuous improvement.
• Serve as an SME during project implementations, assisting with Spark-based data engineering and analytics solutions on Azure.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in data engineering, with a focus on Spark (PySpark, Scala) and Azure services such as Azure Databricks, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Factory, and Azure Blob Storage.
• Proven experience in designing and delivering technical training programs, with a focus on data engineering and analytics.
• Strong expertise in Spark-based data processing, optimization techniques, and performance tuning.
• Proficiency in SQL, Python, and/or Scala for big data processing and analytics.
• Hands-on experience with data integration, ETL processes, and Azure data services.
• Ability to explain complex technical concepts in simple terms for diverse audiences.
• Strong communication, presentation, and mentoring skills.
• Experience with data governance, security, and compliance standards in Azure-based environments.

Preferred Skills:

• Azure certifications, such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate or Microsoft Certified: Azure AI Engineer Associate.
• Familiarity with data warehousing solutions like Azure Synapse Analytics or Azure Data Lake.
• Experience with CI/CD processes for data engineering workflows on Azure.
• Prior experience in teaching, mentoring, or coaching professionals in a corporate or educational setting.
• Knowledge of data visualization tools such as Power BI and integration with Azure data solutions.
