Technical Writer will work with our US based software product and solution company with focus on AI and Data to regain the reputation for having some of the most complete and clear product documentation in its market.

The candidate needs to have a passion for effective written and visual communication with software users, strives for logical completeness and correctness, has mastery of English grammar and usage, and pays attention to detail.

Responsibilities:

• Create, revise, expand, and publish technical documentation to satisfy the needs of an ever-improving and maturing enterprise database software platform.
• The primary focus is technical documentation: database language and command specifications and manuals, user guides, tutorials, FAQs, and release notes.
•  Interact with multiple teams, including Product and various Engineering groups, mostly located in the US. Interview and converse with developers and other subject matter experts to understand product features and how they are used.

Required skills and experience:

• Demonstrated ability to write in American English, alternately to a technical audience or a business / general user audience. Samples of writing required.
• Programming language knowledge: 
• Working knowledge of software developer's jargon.
• Familiarity with common concepts, syntax and structures for common programming languages such as Java and Python. (SQL is a plus.)
• Familiarity with conventions for documenting command syntax and options.
• Ability to read and write code samples and to format code nicely (e.g., use of indentation and capitalization).
• Ability to navigate a Linux file system and to run software from the command line.
• Familiarity with the Git version control system.
• Ability to coordinate with US based business and technical stakeholders during some overlap with US timezone for meetings.

Preferred:

• Experience writing with Antora, AsciiDoc syntax, HTML, and CSS.
• 3 to 7 years experience authoring technical documentation, preferably for software developers.
• Knowledge of database and enterprise software terminology
