Job Overview

We are looking for a motivated and experienced Assistant Manager for Vessel Operations to join our team in Mumbai. This is a full-time, senior-level position requiring up to 10 years of relevant work experience. The ideal candidate will have expertise in managing vessel operations, with a strong focus on shipping lines and vessel sailing, in order to enhance operational efficiency.

Qualifications and Skills

• Extensive knowledge of vessel operations, focusing on streamlining processes and ensuring timely departures (Mandatory skill).
• Proven experience in handling shipping line activities, having coordinated with multiple stakeholders to ensure smooth transactions (Mandatory skill).
• In-depth understanding of vessel sailing schedules and routes, with the ability to anticipate and solve logistical challenges (Mandatory skill).
• Competency in managing vessel gate cut off times to prevent delays and ensure compliance with shipping regulations.
• Experience in preparing and analyzing export advance lists to expedite cargo management and enhance operational efficiencies.
• Ability to prepare deck manifests accurately to ensure cargo is allocated and accounted for correctly on each voyage.
• Experience with non-vessel operating common carriers (NVOcc) structures, helping optimize cargo movement and reduce costs.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with clients, partners, and team members.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Manage and supervise all daily operations related to vessel movements, ensuring optimal efficiency and adherence to schedules.
• Coordinate with shipping lines to ensure cargo readiness and meet departure deadlines, while minimizing potential disruptions.
• Monitor vessel sailing plans and adjust operations as required to cope with changing shipping environments and client needs.
• Ensure adherence to all vessels' gate cut off timings to maintain customer satisfaction and operational reliability.
• Liaise with exports team to maintain accurate advance lists, ensuring smooth transition and handling of cargo operations.
• Prepare and review deck manifests to ensure all cargo and logistical information is accurately supported and updated.
• Create strategic relationships with NVOcc partners, enhancing vessel operation efficiencies and cost management.
• Drive team performance through effective leadership, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and industry best practices.
