Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced SAP MDG (Master Data Governance) Consultant/Lead to join our team. The ideal candidate will have 8+ years of experience in SAP MDG implementation, configuration, and support. This role requires expertise in master data management processes, governance frameworks, data modeling, and integration with SAP and non-SAP systems. You will play a key role in the implementation and ongoing optimization of SAP MDG solutions to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across the enterprise.

As an SAP MDG Lead Consultant, you will collaborate with business stakeholders, IT teams, and other functional consultants to design, configure, and deploy SAP MDG solutions that meet the evolving business needs. You will also lead a team of consultants in the execution of key tasks and work closely with business users to ensure seamless master data governance across multiple domains such as Material Master (MM), Customer Master (CRM), Supplier Master (SRM), and more.

Key Responsibilities:

• SAP MDG Solution Design & Implementation:
• Lead the design, configuration, and implementation of SAP MDG solutions across various master data domains (Material, Vendor, Customer, etc.).
• Develop and implement data governance policies, rules, and workflows to ensure high data quality and consistency.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams (MM, SD, WM, FICO, etc.) to align master data requirements with business processes.
• Define data governance and stewardship roles, responsibilities, and workflows for data ownership and maintenance.
• Integrate SAP MDG with other SAP modules (like SAP S/4HANA, SAP CRM, SAP SRM, etc.) and third-party systems.
• Master Data Governance Strategy & Best Practices:
• Establish best practices for master data management, data quality standards, and data governance processes.
• Support data cleansing and migration initiatives, ensuring master data consistency during SAP migrations or upgrades.
• Assist in the development and deployment of data stewardship programs, ensuring business users adhere to data quality guidelines.
• Ensure compliance with data governance policies and industry standards.
• Data Modeling & Technical Configuration:
• Configure SAP MDG data models, business rules, and workflows according to business requirements.
• Work with the SAP MDG Data Model (MDG-M, MDG-S, MDG-C) and configure governance processes, including data validation, approval workflows, and change requests.
• Develop custom reports, enhancements, and interfaces as needed, using SAP MDG's development tools and techniques (e.g., BRF+, BADIs, and user exits).
• Leadership & Mentoring:
• Lead and mentor a team of junior MDG consultants, providing technical guidance and support throughout the project lifecycle.
• Coordinate with other SAP teams (basis, security, functional) to resolve technical issues and ensure smooth integration of master data governance solutions.
• Oversee the work of consultants and assist in solution design, implementation, testing, and deployment.
• Continuous Improvement & Support:
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance SAP MDG processes, increase data quality, and optimize governance workflows.
• Provide post-implementation support, troubleshoot data-related issues, and continuously monitor data governance practices.
• Collaborate with business users to ensure that the MDG solution adapts to evolving business requirements and data management needs.
• Stakeholder Management & Communication:
• Work closely with business stakeholders, data owners, and subject matter experts to define data governance requirements and ensure alignment with business needs.
• Present recommendations and project updates to senior management and business users.
• Lead workshops and training sessions to increase awareness and adoption of SAP MDG processes and best practices.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Experience: 8+ years of hands-on experience in SAP MDG, with a proven track record of delivering successful MDG projects (including at least one full lifecycle SAP MDG implementation).
• Functional Expertise:
• In-depth knowledge of SAP MDG and its integration with SAP S/4HANA, SAP CRM, SAP SRM, and other SAP modules.
• Strong understanding of Master Data Management (MDM) principles, data governance frameworks, and data quality management.
• Expertise in designing and configuring SAP MDG workflows, business rules, and data models for various domains (Material, Vendor, Customer, etc.).
• Experience in data migration, data cleansing, and data quality initiatives.
• Technical Skills:
• Experience with SAP MDG-specific tools, including BRF+, FPM (Floorplan Manager), UI5/Fiori, and data validation techniques.
• Knowledge of ABAP for enhancements and customizations in the SAP MDG context.
• Familiarity with integration tools and techniques like SAP PI/PO, IDOCs, and Web Services.
• Leadership & Communication: Excellent leadership, project management, and communication skills to lead teams, liaise with stakeholders, and manage cross-functional collaboration.
• Business Acumen: Strong understanding of SAP-related business processes, including SAP MM, SD, FICO, and other relevant functional modules.

Preferred Qualifications:

• SAP Certification in MDG, MDM, or S/4HANA is a plus.
• Experience with SAP S/4HANA migrations and integrating SAP MDG with S/4HANA systems.
• Experience in implementing SAP MDG in a global or multi-country environment.
• Advanced knowledge of Data Governance Frameworks, industry standards, and tools.
• Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects and initiatives simultaneously.
