Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Indian Chef to join our team at Hotel Bliss Tirupati, a leading 3-star hotel in Temple Town, Tirupati. As an Indian Chef, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking traditional Indian dishes, ensuring high-quality standards, and delivering a memorable dining experience for our guests. This is a full-time position based in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India, with a required mid-level experience of 4 to 6 years.
Qualifications and Skills
- Proven experience as an Indian Chef with a focus on traditional Indian cuisine
- Proficient knowledge of Indian spices, flavors, and cooking techniques
- Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene practices
- Ability to create and execute innovative Indian dishes while maintaining authenticity
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Strong leadership and team management abilities
- Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays
- Mid-level experience of 4 to 6 years in a similar role
Roles and Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook a variety of authentic Indian dishes according to established recipes and standards
- Manage food preparation and presentation in line with hotel and industry standards
- Ensure freshness and quality of ingredients by inspecting and selecting the best produce
- Monitor and control portion sizes, minimizing waste and ensuring cost-effectiveness
- Maintain kitchen equipment and ensure cleanliness and sanitization standards are met
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to develop new dishes and creative menu ideas
- Train and supervise junior kitchen staff, ensuring seamless operations in the kitchen
- Adhere to all safety and hygiene regulations and maintain a safe working environment
- Assist in inventory management, stock rotation, and ordering supplies as needed
- Stay up to date with industry trends and new cooking techniques
