Job Description: Senior Associate - Corporate Litigation

Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Associate specializing in Corporate Litigation to join our dynamic legal team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in handling complex corporate disputes, managing litigation processes, and providing strategic legal counsel. The role requires strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and the capability to lead and mentor junior associates.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Litigation Management:

• Handle and manage a diverse portfolio of corporate litigation cases, including contract disputes, shareholder conflicts, regulatory matters, and insolvency proceedings.
• Represent clients in courts, tribunals, and arbitration proceedings.
• Draft pleadings, motions, and other legal documents necessary for litigation.

1. Strategic Legal Counsel:

• Provide expert legal advice to clients on corporate legal issues, risk mitigation, and compliance with regulatory frameworks.
• Assess legal exposure and advise on settlement strategies or alternative dispute resolution mechanisms.

1. Client Interaction:

• Build and maintain strong client relationships by ensuring timely communication, understanding their business objectives, and delivering effective legal solutions.
• Conduct regular updates and consultations with clients on case progress and legal strategy.

1. Team Leadership and Mentorship:

• Supervise and mentor junior associates and legal interns, providing guidance on case strategy and legal research.
• Review and ensure the accuracy and quality of work produced by the team.

1. Research and Analysis:

• Conduct in-depth research on legal precedents, statutes, and regulatory frameworks applicable to corporate litigation cases.
• Stay updated on legal trends and developments impacting corporate law and litigation practices.

1. Collaboration:

• Work closely with other practice groups, including corporate advisory, mergers and acquisitions, and regulatory compliance, to provide holistic legal solutions.
• Collaborate with external counsels and consultants when required.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Education:
• LL.B. or equivalent from a recognized university; additional certifications (e.g., LL.M. or specialized courses in corporate law) are a plus.
• Experience:
• Minimum 5-8 years of experience in corporate litigation, preferably at a law firm or in-house legal department.
• Key Skills:
• Strong knowledge of corporate laws, regulatory frameworks, and dispute resolution mechanisms.
• Exceptional drafting and legal research skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple cases and prioritize tasks effectively.
• Leadership and team management capabilities.
• Other Requirements:
• Membership in the Bar Council or relevant professional body.
• Willingness to travel for hearings and client meetings, as required.
