Attakkalari Centre for Movement Arts is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Communication Associate to join our team. The Communication Associate will be responsible for creating and implementing communication strategies that will promote the organization's mission and activities, as well as for creating and managing content for the organization's various channels.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement communication strategies that promote Attakkalari's mission, programs, and events.
- Create and manage content for the organization's website, social media, and other digital platforms, including graphics, videos, photos, and written content.
- Draft press releases and other communication materials, including newsletters, brochures, and other marketing materials.
- Cultivate relationships with media outlets and influencers to increase visibility for the organization.
- Assist in organizing and promoting programs and events, including courses, performances, and workshops.
- Work collaboratively with other staff members to ensure consistency in messaging and branding.
- Monitor and analyze media coverage of Attakkalari and provide reports on the impact of communication efforts.
- Stay current with trends in communication, marketing, and the arts to inform the organization's strategy.
Qualifications:
Ø Bachelor's degree in communication, marketing, public relations, or a related field.
Ø 2+ years of experience in communication, marketing, or public relations, preferably in the arts or cultural sector.
Ø Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ø Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
Ø Strong digital media skills, including proficiency in social media platforms and website management.
Ø Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment with international team members.
Ø Demonstrated ability to think creatively and develop innovative communication strategies.
Ø Knowledge of the Indian arts and cultural landscape is preferred.
Ø Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends as needed.
Ø Detail-oriented and highly organized
This is a full-time position, and the selected candidate must be available during Attakkalari's normal working hours.
Salary for the position will be determined based on the candidate's experience and skill sets. The final compensation package will be commensurate with industry standards and will be discussed with the selected candidate.
