Estimation:
- Develop and maintain accurate cost estimates for projects, considering all relevant factors such as materials, labor, equipment, and overhead.
- Analyze project requirements and specifications to determine the scope of work and identify potential risks.
- Utilize estimation software and tools to prepare detailed cost breakdowns and reports.
- Review and validate estimates to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Track and analyze actual project costs against estimated costs, identifying variances and areas for improvement.
Planning:
- Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders.
- Create work breakdown structures (WBS) to organize project tasks and activities.
- Utilize project management software and tools to create and manage project schedules.
- Monitor project progress, identify potential delays, and develop mitigation strategies.
- Ensure that project plans are aligned with organizational goals and objectives.
Team Management:
- Lead and supervise a team of estimators and planners, providing guidance, training, and support.
- Set performance expectations, conduct performance reviews, and provide feedback for improvement.
- Foster a collaborative and positive work environment, promoting teamwork and knowledge sharing.
- Delegate tasks and responsibilities effectively, ensuring optimal utilization of team resources.
- Mentor and develop team members, helping them to enhance their skills and expertise.
Other Responsibilities:
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and new technologies in estimation and planning.
- Continuously improve estimation and planning processes, identifying areas for optimization and efficiency.
- Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to ensure effective communication and coordination.
- Prepare and present reports on estimation and planning performance to senior management.
- Adhere to company policies, procedures, and ethical standards.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Proven experience in estimation and planning, preferably in a managerial role.
- Proficiency in estimation software, project management tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Certification in project management or cost estimation is a plus.
