Estimation:

  • Develop and maintain accurate cost estimates for projects, considering all relevant factors such as materials, labor, equipment, and overhead.
  • Analyze project requirements and specifications to determine the scope of work and identify potential risks.
  • Utilize estimation software and tools to prepare detailed cost breakdowns and reports.
  • Review and validate estimates to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Track and analyze actual project costs against estimated costs, identifying variances and areas for improvement.


Planning:

  • Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Create work breakdown structures (WBS) to organize project tasks and activities.  
  • Utilize project management software and tools to create and manage project schedules.
  • Monitor project progress, identify potential delays, and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure that project plans are aligned with organizational goals and objectives.


Team Management:

  • Lead and supervise a team of estimators and planners, providing guidance, training, and support.
  • Set performance expectations, conduct performance reviews, and provide feedback for improvement.
  • Foster a collaborative and positive work environment, promoting teamwork and knowledge sharing.
  • Delegate tasks and responsibilities effectively, ensuring optimal utilization of team resources.
  • Mentor and develop team members, helping them to enhance their skills and expertise.


Other Responsibilities:

  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and new technologies in estimation and planning.
  • Continuously improve estimation and planning processes, identifying areas for optimization and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to ensure effective communication and coordination.
  • Prepare and present reports on estimation and planning performance to senior management.
  • Adhere to company policies, procedures, and ethical standards.



Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in estimation and planning, preferably in a managerial role.
  • Proficiency in estimation software, project management tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. 
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously. 
  • Certification in project management or cost estimation is a plus.
