Job Description – Senior Physical Design Engineer (4+ Years)

JOB TITLE: Senior Physical Design Engineer

KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

SUMMARY: We are seeking an experienced and skilled Senior Physical Design Engineer to join our team at ARF Design Pvt Ltd. This is an urgent requirement for a professional with over 5+ years of experience in Physical Design (PD) to contribute to our cutting-edge semiconductor projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the complete PD lifecycle and a proven track record of delivering multiple tapeouts successfully.

• End-to-end ownership of Physical Design (PD) lifecycle, including design planning, floorplanning, placement, routing, and post-route optimization.
• Execute multiple tapeout cycles, ensuring quality and on-time delivery.
• Manage the ECO lifecycle effectively, implementing and validating engineering change orders.
• Perform Clock-Tree Synthesis (CTS) and optimization to meet timing requirements.
• Apply power-aware PD flows such as Advanced Design Methodologies (ADM), Place & Route (P&R), and IR drop analysis.
• Handle Physical Design Static Timing Analysis (PD-STA) and develop robust timing closure, meeting multi-mode, multi-corner (MMMC) timing constraints.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams for seamless integration of design and verification processes.
• Stay updated on the latest advancements in PD tools and methodologies to optimize design flow.

SKILLS:

Required Skills:

• Expertise in complete PD lifecycle, including tapeout, ECO, and CTS.
• Strong knowledge of power-aware flows (ADM, P&R, etc.).
• Proficiency in PD-STA, timing constraints, and MMMC timing closure.

Desired Skills:

• Familiarity with industry-standard PD tools like Synopsys ICC2, Cadence Innovus, and Mentor Calibre.
• Ability to debug and resolve critical design issues in tight deadlines.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and teamwork capabilities.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics Engineering or a related field.
• 4+ years of experience in Physical Design with multiple successful tapeouts.
