Job Overview
We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Staff Nurse to join our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) team. As a Staff Nurse - NICU, you will be responsible for providing specialized nursing care to premature and critically ill newborns. This is a full-time position based in Bangalore Urban, Karnataka, India. The ideal candidate will have 1 to 3 years of experience in NICU and possess the necessary skills to provide excellent care to newborns.
Qualifications and Skills
- Junior : 1 to 3 years of experience in NICU
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing or equivalent, or GNM
- Valid state nursing license
- Experience in neonatal nursing is preferred
- Knowledge of neonatal assessment tools and procedures
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced and challenging environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
- Certifications in NALS and PALS are a plus
- Passion for providing high-quality care to newborns
Roles and Responsibilities
- Provide specialized nursing care to premature and critically ill newborns in the NICU
- Assess and document the patient's condition and report any changes to the healthcare team
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by the physician
- Monitor and maintain the patient's vital signs, including heart rate, blood pressure, and oxygen levels
- Assist in procedures such as intubation, ventilation, and central line placements
- Educate and support parents in caring for their newborn, including breastfeeding and baby care techniques
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement care plans for each patient
- Ensure compliance with infection control and safety protocols
- Participate in continuous education and training to stay updated on the latest advancements in neonatal care
