We are hiring a Quality Head-textile for our client-leading textile company in Coimbatore.


Salary - 22 LPA Max


Job Purpose


Develop and implement systems and procedures to resolve and prevent recurrence of both

internal and customer-identified quality issues related to fabric manufacturing and cut-and-sew

operations.

Utilize tools including Control Plans, PFMEAs and Six Sigma to implement changes in manufacturing

and with raw materials to detect, prevent, and contain quality issues. Collect and utilize data

along with Gauge studies to validate and improve internal testing methods and inspection

frequency to maximize the efficiency and effectiveness of QA activities.

Provide day-to-day management of the QC/QA department and act as a technical contact as

needed to support sales and customers.


Main activities


Quality Control


 Work with suppliers to develop raw material specifications to control important parameters

that impacted operational efficiency and finished product quality.

 Oversee quality control of incoming materials and in-line production processes.

 Coordinate research and development projects

Quality Assurance

 Work with functional leaders to establish and document procedures that effect control of

quality.

 Manage customer complaint process including investigation, root cause analysis and

implementation of corrective actions.

 Train department leaders in the use of problem-solving tools

 Implement and support a 5S culture

 Develop and implement project management tools to support the completion of projects

on-time and within budget

Inspection

 Analyse defects identified in production and group into standardized categories to allow for

Pareto analysis to prioritize improvement activities

 Work with department management to integrate inspection and quality control into all

critical steps of the production process.

 Work with customers to assess quality requirements and reach agreement on acceptance

levels to align customer expectations and process capabilities.


General Support

 Set internal standards for Quality, health, and safety

 Act a catalyst for change and implementation of continuous improvement culture

 Define quality metrics, provide and communicate targets and work with functional

departments to develop plans to meet targets

 Understand regulatory requirements as they apply to the business and implement systems to

ensure compliance.


Key responsibilities


 Work with manufacturing management team to develop and implement quality control

procedures on the manufacturing floor.

 Establish QC audits of finished products to ensure outgoing product meets both internal and

customer specific requirements.

 Maintain and monitor compliance with documented Quality Management System and

related procedures and work instructions.

 Serve as primary quality contact with customers and suppliers regarding specification

development and approval as well as containment activities, root cause analysis and

implementation of permanent corrective actions.

 Act as champion for product validation process, quality improvement, and cost reduction

projects. Utilize statistically based tools including design of experiments to understand

causes of variation and implementation of corrective actions to reduce finished goods

variation.

 Assist management team with selection and implementation of new manufacturing and

business processes to improve costs, quality and overall effectiveness of the organization.

 Conduct internal audits of functional departments to drive improvement and ensure control

plans and procedures are being followed.

 Assist Alliance partners with development and implementation of quality management

systems including written documentation to ensure product quality.

 Define and monitor metrics to detect out of standard trends and provide analysis and

recommend corrective actions to management team.

 Participate in development of global document control and Engineering Change request

system to ensure documentation is complete, accurate, and updated quickly.

 Provide leadership to QC engineering personnel and mfg management team to develop and

maintain quality specifications and ensure sufficient controls and systems are established to

meet customer requirements and industry standards.

 Provide necessary information to upper management as needed to efficiently perform their

respective job requirements.




Required skills


 Knowledge of Six Sigma, Lean Mfg, and PPAP tools and processes

 Proficient in Microsoft office

 Ability to communicate fluently in English both verbally and in writing

 Problem Solver

 Analytical thinking skills

 Organization skills with ability to manage multiple tasks and timelines

 Self-starter with proven leadership ability

 Able to walk and stand for over 8 hours per day

 Ability to provide leadership to direct and indirect reports and work cross-functionally with

other department leaders to achieve company goals

 Mechanical, Industrial, or similar engineering degree.
