Purpose:
A product marketing manager will be responsible for overseeing the creation and distribution of promotional campaigns for key products. This individual will have a keen understanding of the product’s target audience, and in-depth knowledge of relevant product features.
Key Responsibilities:
Product marketing managers liaise between the product and audiences, including sales, marketing, customers, and prospects. Their tasks include the following:
ü Foundational marketing and campaign management experience
ü Project management skills
ü Strong organizational and communication skills
ü The ability to analyze relevant information and make informed decisions.
ü The ability to prioritize tasks and responsibilities across projects
ü Researching the market to learn the competitive environment.
ü Working with the marketing team to create materials that highlight product features and benefits.
ü Developing the go-to-market strategy / Firm grasp of ways to develop strategic product marketing campaigns
ü Working with product management to define goals and metrics for the product launch.
ü Strong written and verbal communication skills
ü Deep understanding of market trends and product life cycles
Key Responsibility:
Another major responsibility of a product marketing manager is to conduct extensive market research to:
· Understand the pain points of the target audience or identify gaps in the market.
· Validate the need for a product idea on behalf of the key stakeholders.
· Come up with unique product features and create a positive customer experience.
· Create resources for the sales team to help convert SQLs.
· Ensure that the market demands align with the expectations of the stakeholders.
Own the Go-to-Market (GTM) Plan for the Product:
It’s different from a traditional marketing strategy in the sense that it’s more focused on the short run, rather than the long run. A marketing strategy is focused on communicating the value proposition over a defined period, whereas the focus of a GTM plan is new product launches.
The PMM is responsible for creating and executing a solid GTM plan for a new product.
Specify the Value Proposition, Positioning, and Messaging
ü Based on the initial research, the product marketing manager first specifies the exact value proposition of the new product. This could be a feature, a benefit, or any other intrinsic value that makes the product attractive in the eyes of the target audience.
ü Based on the positioning, values, and other key factors – works on developing the messaging. It’s basically a list of key messages that a brand wants to use to communicate with the target audience to capture its interest.
Create and Execute a Practical Marketing Strategy
ü Conduct comprehensive competitive analysis to inform strategic planning and positioning.
ü Formulate strategies to exploit competitors’ weaknesses and counter their strengths.
ü Building and managing a brand for the product
ü Looking after individual marketing initiatives (content, SEO, paid ads, special events, lead generation initiatives, etc.)
ü Aligning with the sales team and providing training and resources to personnel
ü Specifying metrics that align with the strategic goals.
ü Coming up with a distribution strategy and executing it.
Maintain Consistent Communication with Stakeholders
product marketing manager is also expected to maintain strong communication with all of the key stakeholders:
ü Report to the Team on the progress of marketing initiatives
ü Acting as a voice for the target customers to ensure a great product.
ü Ensure smooth collaboration between the different team members.

Digital MARKETING : Website Messaging / Digital Marketing:
· Refine and optimize product messaging on web pages to ensure clarity, engagement, and conversion.
· Implement A/B testing, analyze user behavior, and gather feedback to continually enhance the messaging for effectiveness and resonance with the target audience.
· Work on strategies to increase page engagement, ensuring content relevancy, visual appeal, and intuitive navigation to keep the audience engaged and drive conversions.
· Collaborate with the content and design teams to develop compelling, informative, and engaging content.
· Develop and optimize call-to-actions and user journeys to increase demo trial sign-ups.
Experience
· 3-5+ Years Experience in Marketing
Educational Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Marketing, or related field
· Ability to multi-task
· Strong verbal, written, and organizational skills
· Market Research and Product Management skills
· Expertise in developing and executing go-to-market strategies for enterprise-grade SaaS products
· Experience in Sales and Product Marketing
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Ability to lead and mentor a team
