Position: SQL DBA with AWS

EXP: 8 – 10 years

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Database Orchestration and Execution

Specialist to join our team project. The candidate will play a pivotal role in

rebuilding the orchestration AND execution for our non-production environment database

refresh process for SQL Server 2019 hosted on AWS RDS and EC2.

Requirements:

Technical Skills:

1. SQL Scripting: Proficiency in writing SQL scripts and stored procedures for SQL Server 2019.

2. AWS RDS: Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) Relational Database Service (RDS) and SQL Server on AWS.

3. Task Orchestration: Familiarity with task orchestration platforms like SQL Server Jobs or similar tools.

4. Database Backup and Restore: Knowledge of database backup and restore processes.

5. Script Optimization: Ability to optimize SQL scripts for performance.

6. Script Version Control: Experience with version control systems, such as Git, for managing SQL scripts.

7. Troubleshooting: Strong problem-solving skills for addressing database-related issues.

Responsibilities:

·Rebuild and enhance the orchestration and execution process for database backups.

·Develop modular and reusable SQL Server stored procedures.

·Implement logging and monitoring solutions for transparency.

·Collaborate effectively within a team.

Project Definition: Database Backup Restore Orchestration

Objective:

Rebuild and enhance the orchestration and execution process for restoring database backups

into multiple non-production environments hosted on AWS RDS SQL Server 2019.

Key Components:

1. Orchestration Platform Selection: Choose a suitable task orchestration platform.

2. Step Development: Create modular, reusable SQL Server stored procedures.

3. Logging and Transparency: Implement comprehensive logging and monitoring.

4. Step Success Process: Develop a process for identifying step success and triggering alerts.

5. Documentation: Document the process and guidelines.

Expected Outcome: A streamlined and automated database restore process, utilizing

SQL Server and AWS RDS, with modular stored procedures, robust logging, and

effective monitoring.
