100% Remote- Must work in EST/CST hours
6 months Contract-to-Hire
$50-$55 per hour C2C Max (no flexibility); Salary conversion of $80-$100K/year + Benefits
Huntington is seeking a passionate mid-to-senior level researcher who wants to join a team of design
thinkers focused on creating experiences that help and delight people. As a UX Researcher, you will assist
the UX team’s efforts to involve users in a portfolio of experience design initiatives and advocate for the
user with teams across the company.

Overview-
In this role, you will:
- Be a force of optimism, comfortable with the ambiguity that often exists early stages of innovation
- Learn how people think about managing their financial well-being and how they interact with brands to do so
- Coordinate research logistics (e.g., recruiting, moderation, data collection)
- Participate in and execute generative and evaluative design research efforts executed by Huntington UX or external third-party vendors (e.g., usability testing, one-on-one interviews, focus groups, heuristic evaluations, co-design activities, contextual inquiries, ethnographic research, surveys, card sorting)
- Support UX leads to help organize stakeholder alignment activities
- Create thoughtful user-centered research approaches and methodologies for the UX team's involvement in crafting new experiences
- Collaborate with market research, continuous improvement, and analytics partners on best research approaches
- Assist the UX team in creating frameworks that help organize insights in an easily consumable/digestible way
- Participate in ideation & design of future customer experiences, including online, mobile apps, ATM, and banker tools
- Collaborate with designers, product managers, brand managers, analytics teams, and leadership to identify knowledge gaps and propose and plan methodology to gain needed insights
- Participate in discovery efforts and gather insights (primary and/or secondary) that will help teams understand users' current and ideal experiences
- Present deliverables to clients/partners/executives and speak to users' needs, expectations, pain points, etc.
- Plan for and design research stimuli to support early design activities such as workshops, participatory design sessions, co-creation sessions, etc.
- Support the creation of compelling stories that help communicate user insights and design criteria to clients, partners, and executives
- Drive analysis and synthesis activities for research data and communicate insights and design criteria to clients, partners, and executives
- Work with teams to Identify user types and specific screening criteria
- Plan and facilitate multi-disciplinary workshops to involve and align the design team and stakeholders on experience opportunities
Skills Required-
- Firm understanding of the user-centered design process Last updated: 10/21/20
- Knowledge of human factors and usability considerations, including ADA compliance/guidelines
- Experience in generative and evaluative research methodologies, data collection, and analysis
- Ability to apply selected research methods
- Understanding of specialized UX skillsets (e.g., experience strategy, interaction and visual design, content strategy, front-end UI development)
- Knowledge of the latest trends and UI conventions in the digital space
- Strong understanding of the usability differences between pervasive devices and platforms (e.g., smart devices, phone, tablet, desktop, Android, and IOS)
- Comfort with ambiguity early in projects
- Strong organization, facilitation, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
- Core critical thinking skills, including observation, interpretation, analysis, inference, evaluation, and explanation
- Excellent written, verbal, and visual communication skills, including the ability to visualize key research insights/data
- Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite
Additional Qualifications-
- Bachelor's degree in Human Factors, Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology, Cognitive Science, Design or equivalent related experience
- Minimum 3 years of experience in the field of design research and/or usability
- Minimum 3 years of experience facilitating in-depth interviews focus groups, usability studies, and/or design workshops
- Ability to work on multiple projects concurrently, demonstrating a mature ability to prioritize and manage time
- Ability to develop working relationships with individuals at all levels of an organization
- Strong desire to improve the lives of others
