Job Overview

We are seeking a Senior Mainframe Developer to join our Pune Division on a full-time, contract-to-hire basis. The ideal candidate will have 7 to 10 years of relevant work experience. You will be responsible for the development and maintenance of mainframe projects, ensuring reliable and efficient project delivery.

Qualifications and Skills

• Proficiency in COBOL programming, essential for writing and maintaining scalable code for mainframe systems (Mandatory skill).
• Expertise in Job Control Language (JCL) for handling batch jobs and running programs efficiently (Mandatory skill).
• Solid experience with DB2, imperative for managing and manipulating databases in mainframe environments (Mandatory skill).
• Adept in managing Virtual Storage Access Method (VSAM) datasets, crucial for efficient I/O operations within mainframes.
• Working knowledge of Customer Information Control System (CICS) for developing and maintaining transaction processing applications.
• Strong debugging skills to identify and resolve critical issues in mainframe systems for optimal performance.
• Experience with mainframe utilities to perform data analysis and support system functions effectively.
• Understanding of mainframe batch processing techniques to handle large sets of transactions seamlessly and efficiently.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain reliable COBOL code for enterprise-level mainframe applications to ensure robust system operations.
• Utilize JCL to efficiently schedule and execute batch processes, optimizing system resource usage and job throughput.
• Ensure data integrity and performance by managing databases with advanced DB2 skills.
• Collaborate in designing and implementing CICS transaction processing solutions to enhance user interaction with systems.
• Perform mainframe debugging to identify and rectify application issues, ensuring minimal downtime and system outages.
• Execute mainframe utilities for routine functions such as data dumps, text searches, and system file management.
• Optimize mainframe batch processing workflows to ensure timely and accurate completion of critical business processes.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to deliver mainframe solutions that align with organizational goals and client needs.
